Team Captain. Started all 12 games at center. Repeat selection to All-MEAC First Team as conference's top center. Voted to AFCA All-America Second Team, becoming NCCU's first American Football Coaches Association All-American in 20 years. Named as SBN Black College All-American, BOXTOROW All-American, and Black College Sports Page "Baad Team" of Black College All-Americans (First Team). One of 24 college football players named to the 2016 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team®, one of the most coveted off-the-field honors in college football. Two-time MEAC Offensive Lineman of the Week (Sept. 19 & Nov. 7). In 707 plays, recorded a team-best grade of 91 percent on blocking assignments with a team-high 65 pancake blocks, while only allowing one sack (does not include Celebration Bowl statistics). Team broke school's single-season record for total offense (4,614 yards), averaging 384.5 total yards per game (161.2 rushing/223.3 passing). Second-highest scoring team in school history with 347 points, an average of 28.9 points per game. Team record of 9-3 overall and 8-0 in conference to win MEAC Championship. Voted to Preseason All-MEAC First Team. Announced to Preseason BOXTOROW All-America Team, honoring the top players from HBCUs.Â

Announced to SBN Black College All-American Team, BOXTOROW (HBCU) All-America Team, HBCU Gameday FCS All-American Team and the Black College Sports Page "Baad Team" of Black College All-Americans (First Team). Selected as a finalist for the STATS Doris & Eddie Robinson Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, recognizing an FCS student-athlete who excels not only on the field and in the classroom, but in the community and beyond.

Started all 12 games as an offensive lineman. Â In 691 plays, graded out at 90 percent on blocking assignments with 63 knockdowns and without allowing a sack. Earned MEAC Offensive Lineman of the Week honors after recording four pancake blocks without a penalty and without allowing a sack against Savannah State (Oct. 25).
