Question: Why did you choose NCCU?
Carl Jones: "Coming out of high school it was one of the few scholarship offers I had, and I decided to take my official visit here first. I ended up committing and never looked back."

Q: Tell me something interesting about yourself that others may not know.
CJ: "I don't like attention and I am actually kind of shy."

Q: What is your major? What do you want to do after NCCU?
CJ: "I graduated with a degree in accounting last May. I am currently enrolled in the athletics administration graduate program. After this season, I will start my career in accounting/finance."

Q: What do you like most about being an NCCU Eagle?
CJ: "It sounds cliché, but the family atmosphere. The love and support from everyone on campus is something I cherish."

Q: What has been your most memorable moment at NCCU?
CJ: "Winning our first championship in 2014. From the moment I woke up, I knew that day was going to be special. It's a feeling that I haven't had since then."

Q: What is your favorite part of game day at O'Kelly-Riddick Stadium?
CJ: "When we get into our stretch lines. That's when it hits me that it's really game day."

Q: Do you have any pre-game rituals?
CJ: "I read scriptures during pre-game meal. And the last song I listen to before I go out is "We Outchea" by Ace Hood."

Q: Why football?
CJ: "It's a team sport that teaches you to trust the process. You work hard every day, all year with your brothers, for the opportunity to only play 11 or 12 games."

Q: What three words best describe you?
CJ: "Passionate, Motivator, Tenacious."

Q: How would you like to be remembered from your playing days at NCCU?
CJ: "I want to be remembered as a selfless teammate who will do anything for his teammates and will do anything to win. I hope that I have left my great institution better than I found it."

Q: If you could invite any person to WG Pearson dining hall for lunch, who would it be and why?
CJ: "I would invite my father, Carl E. Jones, Sr., who passed away when I was 15. I would invite him so he can be proud of everything his son has done at NCCU, and to show him that I am carrying his name with pride and honor."
