North Carolina Central University Athletics

2020: Started all 15 games he appeared in.  Batted .345 with 19 hits, including a double and two home runs for 11 RBI, and slugged .473.  Had the second-highest on-base percentage on the squad at .446 with six walks, and was hit by a pitch four times.  Ranked top-10 in the MEAC in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, and hits.  Tied for fourth in the league in RBI.  Collected a career-high four hits at High Point on Feb. 25, and scored three times in that game.  Held a nine-game hitting streak from Feb. 19 to March 1, and knocked 15 hits with seven RBI and one home run for a .455 batting average.  Drove in a season-high three RBI in a 2-for-3 game with a home run, two runs scored, and two walks against Saint Joseph’s on March 1.  Ranked fourth in the MEAC with 105 putouts.

2019: Appeared and started in all but one of the Eagles’ games with 48 starts.  Finished third on the team with 50 hits, tallying 10 doubles, one triple, and five home runs to tie for the team lead and tie for fourth in the MEAC.  Finished top-10 in the MEAC in slugging percentage at .470 and on base percentage at .431, and ninth in the MEAC with 29 walks.  Defensively, he was tied for second in the MEAC in putouts with 336, and led the league in fielding double plays with 27.  Tied for the fifth-most double plays turned in a single season at NCCU in the modern era.  Had 13 multi-hit games with five three-hit games.  Had 10 multi-RBI games with four three-RBI outings.  Held a six-game hit streak and a 17-game streak of reaching base safely.  Came a double-shy of the cycle against Savannah State when he went 3-for-4 with a triple and a home run with two RBI and two runs scored on April 28.

Prior to NCCU:
Louisburg College: Named First Team All-Region in 2018.  Played 52 games and batted .362 with a .695 slugging percentage.  Had 64 hits with 14 doubles and 15 home runs to drive in 63 RBI.  Named Second Team All-Region in 2017.  Played 48 games and batted .303 with a .539 slugging percentage.  Knocked 46 hits with nine doubles and nine home runs for 38 RBI.

Heritage H.S.: All-Conference selection and team’s Offensive MVP his senior year.

Personal: Born September 8, 1998.  Parents are Frank and Corinne Bailey.  Enjoys playing basketball, video games, pasta, movies, working out, and long walks on the beach.  Hopes to continue in the kinesiology field after graduation.  Majoring in interdisciplinary studies at NCCU.
