North Carolina Central University Athletics

2020: Made four starts.  Was second on the staff with 22.1 innings pitched and 28 strikeouts, and kept a 2.01 ERA.  Finished third in the MEAC in ERA, led the conference with a .148 opposing batting average, and had the third-most strikeouts.  Allowed the second-fewest hits in the league with 12, and tied for the third-fewest earned runs allowed with five.  Tossed a season-high eight strikeouts in consecutive starts against Niagara on Feb. 22, and Saint Joseph’s on March 1.  Pitched a season-high six innings twice against Saint Joseph’s on March 1, and Youngstown State on March 8.  Allowed just one hit in his first two starts of the year against Radford on Feb. 15, and Niagara on Feb. 22.

Prior to NCCU:
Bryant & Stratton College: Made 29 appearances and 20 starts over two years, and won nine games with two saves and two complete games.  Tossed 191 strikeouts over 135.0 innings, and recorded a 3.93 ERA.  Named first team all-region as a freshman in 2018.  Made 16 appearances with 12 starts and five wins, and tossed a team-best 109 strikeouts that season.  Also finished second in the league in strikeouts, and fifth with a 3.68 ERA in 2018.  Nailed down two saves and pitched two complete games as a sophomore in 2019.  Tossed a career-high 15 strikeouts in a seven-inning complete game shutout win with just two walks and two hits in his final start in 2019.

High School (Currituck H.S.): Named first team all-conference as a senior in 2017 after batting .400 with 26 runs and 13 RBI at the plate, and tossed 60 strikeouts over 45.1 innings with a 2.16 ERA on the mound.

Personal: Born August 28, 1999 in Chesapeake, Virginia.  Parents are Shawn and Terri Davis.  Enjoys hunting, fishing, and playing golf.  Majoring in behavioral and social science at NCCU.
