Biography

2013:  Preseason injuries hampered his final season at NCCU as he logged only 8.0 innings for the Eagles with his longest outing coming in a 4-2 loss at Bethune-Cookman on April 13 where he threw 2.0 innings.  Finished the year with three strikeouts, five walks and seven earned runs along with a 7.88 ERA.

2012: Numbers improved drastically in his second season as he finished second on the roster with a 5.17 ERA in a team-high 78.1 innings pitched. Went from 40 walks in year No. 1 to just 16 in year No. 2. Resided for most of the season in the MEAC’s top ten in strikeouts finishing second on the team with 53. Tied teammate Glenn Frye with four wins on the year. Second on the team with 11 starts throwing one complete game on the season. Struck out at least one batter in all but two of his appearances that included six outings with four or more strikeouts. One of his best outings of the year came on March 31 at Florida A&M as he threw a complete-game allowing seven hits and no earned runs with six strikeouts. His next start on April 7 against Longwood mowed down a career-high eight hitters in the 10-6 victory over the Lancers. His best performance of the year came in the heartbreaking 5-4 loss to Bethune-Cookman where he went eight innings surrendered six hits and only one earned run with four strikeouts earning the no-decision in that contest. In MEAC play, struck out a team-high 30 batters and issued only eight walks in 52.0 innings pitched.

2011: After a rough start to his career at NCCU, he settled down and became one of the most effective pitchers on the staff. Started the year mostly in relief but made his way into the starting rotation. Went 5-plus innings in six of his last seven outings including his emergency appearance in game one of the final doubleheader of the season against Texas Southern, where he replaced an injured Douglas Dalley and went 7.0 innings and struck out six batters in his first collegiate win. Was given a no-decision in NCCU’s 6-2 win over Savannah State but his pitching performance should be credited to the win as he went 7.1 innings allowing just 3 hits, 2 runs, and recorded 8 strikeouts. Pitched 55.0 innings and finished his first season with 38 strikeouts while recording at least one K in all 13 appearances.
