North Carolina Central University Athletics

2018:  Made 19 appearances with five starts, and threw a team fourth-most 48.2 innings.  Collected a staff second-most 59 strikeouts, and had an average of 10.91 strikeouts per nine innings, the third-highest in a season at NCCU.  Had his best career appearances against North Carolina A&T (April 15) when he pitched 6.1 innings with a career-high eight strikeouts and allowed just one hit.  Also struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings without an earned run against Norfolk State (April 11).  Made nine appearances without allowing an earned run and one without allowing a hit.  Named MEAC All-Academic.

2017:  Made 16 appearances with one start and pitched 21 innings with 19 strikeouts.  Made five appearances without allowing an earned run, and five without giving up a hit.  Struck out a season high seven batters in long relief against Campbell (April 18) when he pitched five innings with just three hits and two walks with no earned runs.

Cumberland County College (2015-16): Made 27 appearances and eight starts over two seasons with a 10-1 record, 74 strikeouts and a 2.44 ERA over 73.2 innings.  Made six starts in his freshman year with a 5-0 record and 1.23 ERA.

Personal: Born Feb. 21, 1996 in Buena, N.J.  Parents are Dan, Jr. and Sandi Caregnato.  Enjoys video games, working out, and watching the office, and wants to become a college baseball coach.  His favorite team is the New York Yankees.  Majoring in behavioral and social science at NCCU.
