North Carolina Central University Athletics

2020: Made nine appearances with eight starts.  Picked up six hits with a double and a home run.  Slugged .370 with one RBI and two runs scored, and also had a .344 on-base percentage with five walks.  Made 60 putouts with seven assists behind the plate.  Went 2-for-4 with a home run against Niagara on Feb. 23.

Prior to NCCU:
Spartanburg Methodist College: Played 66 games and batted .294 with 47 hits and 35 RBI over two years.  Hit nine doubles and 11 home runs for a .556 slugging percentage, and touched home 44 times.  Stole 24 bases with a .398 on-base percentage.  Hit .347 with 34 hits, eight home runs, six doubles, and 23 RBI as a freshman along with a .653 slugging percentage.

High School (Butler H.S.): Ranked as a top-500 prospect nationally, and a top-50 prospect in the state of North Carolina as a senior.  Advanced to the state semifinals as a senior as well.  Was a three-time all-conference selection, and was named all-state his senior year.  Played for club team South Charlotte Panthers and ended his career at the plate in the top-10 all-time with 42 doubles, 14 triples and 64 extra-base hits with them.  Played all nine positions with SCP in a season, and played all nine in a single game in his final outing with the Panthers.

Personal: Born July 22, 1998 in Rutherfordton, North Carolina.  Parents are Tyron and Lori Phillips.  Enjoys music and playing video games, and also plays the trumpet.  His goal is to play in Major League Baseball.  Majoring in behavioral and social science at NCCU.
