North Carolina Central University Athletics

2013:  Named to All-MEAC Academic team.  Made three appearances in his final season at NCCU working 7.0 innings, allowing nine hits, five runs (four earned) with four walks and three strikeouts.  His first appearance came on April 1 against UNCG where he went 4.0 innings allowing two earned runs with a walk and two strikeouts. 

2012: Worked a career-high 20.2 innings and recorded his highest number of strikeouts during his NCCU tenure with 23 on the season. Made eight appearances along with four starts, despite being shelved for most of the season with arm issues. Struck out at least one batter in all but one appearance and recorded a career-high five strikeouts in two appearances (Feb. 29 vs. Eastern Michigan and March 13 at Davidson). His best performance as an Eagle came on March 7 against Presbyterian, despite taking the loss worked 5.1 innings allowing only three hits, two earned runs with three walks and four strikeouts. Threw four solid innings on March 13 at Davidson surrendering only four hits, three earned runs with five strikeouts, and four walks.

2011: Threw just 15.2 innings all in relief in his second season at NCCU and recorded and 0-2 record along with an ERA of 12.06. Finished his second year at NCCU with 8 strikeouts while walking 24. One of his best performances of the year came on April 20 at Charlotte where he pitched 2.0 innings and allowed only one hit and struck out two batters.

2010: Saw sparse work in his first season with just ten appearances and just one start throwing 13.1 innings in his rookie season at NCCU. Went to the plate in four games that included his first collegiate hit on April 4 against Savannah State, and a walk at No. 25 Virginia Tech and NC State. Finished the season with six strikeouts recording at least one in six out of his 10 outings. In his first career start lasted 2.1 innings surrendered five earned runs and five walks. Pitched 1.0 inning of relief against Presbyterian on March 12 walking one and striking out one. Threw more than one inning in only three outings.

High School (Greene Central H.S.): Was named to the 2009 Eastern Plains All-Conference team, during a stellar senior season that included a two-hit shutout against Croatan, one of the top teams in the area. Posted record of 5-4 in his final season and boasted a 2.47 ERA along with 34 strikeouts. In the outfield, he hit .271 with 13 runs scored, 19 RBIs, five doubles, and a home run.

Personal: Born on September 27, 1991, and is the son of Jasper Jones, Sr. and Deborah Jones. He is a recreation administration major at NCCU.
