North Carolina Central University Athletics

2016: Made 19 appearances and one start to pitch 21 complete innings.  Struck out 14 batters with three coming in relief against at Presbyterian (March 15).

2015:  Redshirted.

2014:  Appeared in 16 games in his first season at NCCU, making two starts.  Earned his first collegiate victory on-the-mound by going 8.0 innings scattering five hits and allowed only one earned run with a season-high six strikeouts as the Eagles took down Presbyterian for the first time in the modern era of the program.  Went 5.2 innings at Duke on April 8 allowing just two runs on four hits with three strikeouts against the Blue Devils. 

Lenoir Community College:  Led team to the championship game in the NJCCA Region X Division II tournament.   Averaged 8.04 strike outs per game.  Named team captain his sophomore year.  Made the Dean’s list.

High School (Terry Sanford H.S.):  Named to the all-conference team junior and senior year.  Led the conference in homeruns.

Personal:  Born November 8, 1992 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Parents are Billy and Angie Cain. Has a sister named Lauren. Major at NCCU is Psychology.
