North Carolina Central University Athletics

High School (Wesleyan Christian Academy):  Was a two-way player and posted six wins on the mound with a 2.41 ERA, along with a .328 batting average at the plate in 2019.  Knocked 21 hits with 13 walks for a .443 on-base percentage at the dish, and struck out 47 batters in 40 innings and 12 appearances on the mound during that season.  Was a two-sport athlete and received three varsity letters in baseball, and two in football.  Was a Wesleyan Scholar Athlete, a member of the Beta Club, and a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Personal: Born in Oak City, North Carolina.  Parents are Michael and Angie Byrd.  Enjoys spending time with friends and family, golfing, cars, and video games.  Majoring in criminal justice with a focus on homeland security at NCCU.
