North Carolina Central University Athletics

2018: Named Third Team All-MEAC.  One of two Eagles to appear in and start all 52 games.  Batted a team-fourth best .285 with 51 hits and 26 RBI.  Slugged .380 with 10 doubles, two triples and a home run, and walked 20 times for a .393 on base percentage.  Finished second on the squad with 13 stolen bases.  Made 77 putouts at shortstop and finished tied for sixth in the MEAC with 115 assists.  Also finished tied for fifth in the league with 24 double plays turned. Had 13 multi-hit games and six multi-RBI games, including when he went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI along with three runs scored at Longwood (Feb. 28).  Also had a team-best 21-game streak of reaching base safely.  Named Academic All-MEAC, and Preseason Second Team All-MEAC.

2017:  Started all 50 games for NCCU this year and batted .255.  Slugged .388 with 15 extra-base hits, collecting 11 doubles, one triple and three home runs.  Finished top-10 in the MEAC and second on the team with 34 walks, and had a .404 on base percentage.  Reached base safely in 14 consecutive games.  Had eight multi-hit games, highlighted by a 3-for-6 game with a triple, four RBI and two runs scored at Savannah State (March 25).

College of Lake County (2015-16): Earned First Team All-Conference honors, and was also named Second Team All-Region 4, and Defensive Player of the Year in Region 4 in 2016.  Appeared in 93 games and started 91 over two years, and batted .316 with 36 RBI.

High School (Warren Township H.S.): Was a two-sport athlete and was an All-Conference player in baseball and basketball.  Was also an honor roll student with a 3.6 GPA. 

Personal: Born Nov. 6, 1995 in Waukegan, Ill.  Parents are Nelson and Mariann Cuevas.  Enjoys hanging with his friends, watching the stock market and giving back to the community.  Favorite teams are the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bulls.  Majoring in business administration with a focus on finance.
