Etienne Farquharson

Etienne Farquharson joined the coaching staff as a student assistant after completing his playing career and graduating in May of 2012 with a degree in business, and has moved up to the Director of Operations for the baseball program. 
 
Playing Career at NCCU:
 
2012:  Moved to first base primarily in his final season, making 25 starts and recording a batting average of .239.  Drove in 11 RBIs, amassed 21 hits and committed only four errors in the field.  His highlight game of the year came on Feb. 26 in the series finale against NJIT where he went 3-for-5 with 3 runs scored and a RBI in a contest where the Eagles nearly erased a double-digit deficit. 
 
2011:  Moved to second base in his junior season at NCCU where he started 16 of his 28 games and finished the season seventh on the team with a .282 batting average and had another late season flurry to raise his average over the final five games, where he went 8-for-17 (.471) with 2 doubles, a triple and 4 RBIs with a slugging percentage of .706.  Went 3-for-3 with a double, 2 RBIs, and a run scored on April 8 against Virginia State.  Ended the season with 29 hits, 12 runs scored, 11 RBIs (one of eight players to record double figure RBIs), and an on-base percentage of .351 and his slugging percentage was .350.  With his exceptional performance in the classroom was nominated as a CoSida Academic All-American.
 
2010:  Played in 34 games while starting in 20 contests at catcher finishing the season second on the roster with a .308 batting average.  Final weekend of the season, put up jaw-dropping numbers against Maryland Eastern Shore (May 8 and 9) as he went 10-for-14 (.714) with seven runs scored, two doubles, and four RBIs.  Named The Banks Law Firm NCCU Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of May because of his performance against UMES.  Prior to that weekend was batting just .219.   Finished the year 8-for-20 (.400) against left handed pitchers, batted .333 (15-for-45) with runners on base, was a surprising 10-for-30 (.333) with runners in scoring position, and went 9-for-27 (.333) with two outs.  His 12 RBIs put him at sixth on the roster. 
     
Pensacola Junior College: Was a member of the Panhandle Conference Championship team that was ranked as high as No. 1 in the nation.  Also named Academic All-American.
 
Personal:  Born on March 12, 1990 and is the son of Etienne and Debbie Farquharson.
