Biography

2017:  Made 10 appearances with six starts, and struck out 29 batters over 30.1 innings.  Struck out a season-high six batters over 4.1 innings against Iona (Feb. 25).  MEAC All-Academic Team selection.

2016:  Made 13 appearances with 11 starts, and pitched 57.2 innings.  Was named MEAC Co-Pitcher of the Week on April 4 after pitching seven complete innings with nine strikeouts and just one earned run, helping the Eagles to its first modern era victory over High Point (March 29).  Racked up 54 strikeouts, the third-most on the team with just 18 walks, the fewest among regular starters on the squad.  Finished in the top-10 of the MEAC in runs allowed (40), earned runs allowed (33) and was fourth in walks allowed.

Prior to NCCU (Avery Point College): Posted a 4-1 record on the mound his freshman year, and followed that with a 7-3 record in his sophomore season.  Avery Point advanced to the 2015 NJCAA College World Series and finished third in the nation.

High School (Lyman Memorial H.S.): Was a two sport athlete in basketball and baseball, and earned first team All-State honors in both sports.  He also was a 1,000-point scorer in his high school basketball career.

Personal: Born Nov. 15, 1994 in Chaplin, Connecticut.  Parents are Paul and Linda Gonnelli.  Majoring in Psychology at NCCU.
