Biography

2018:  Named CoSIDA Academic All-District and Academic Second Team All-American and Second Team All-MEAC.  One of two Eagles to appear in and start all 52 games.  Batted. 276 with 54 hits and a team second-most 38 RBI, good for a tie for sixth in the MEAC.  Slugged .413 with 12 doubles and five home runs, and walked 17 times with a .342 on base percentage.  Made 55 putouts with 92 assists from third base, the 10th most in the MEAC.  Named MEAC Player of the Week on Feb. 26 after batting .583 and slugging 1.250 with two home runs, two doubles and six RBI after a weekend series with NJIT.  Had 16 multi-hit games and nine multi-RBI games along with a seven-game hit streak.  Had one of his best games of the year when he drove in five RBI on a pair of doubles with a run scored against Iona (March 2).  Named MEAC All-Academic.

2017:  Appeared in 44 games and started 40 as a third baseman.  Batted .250 with 37 hits and 27 runs scored, along with eight doubles, one triple, and two home runs for 19 RBI.  Had a slugging percentage of .358 and an on base percentage .313.  Had 10 multi-hit games with two three-hit games, and five multi-RBI games.  Had his best day at the plate at High Point where he went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored and a walk.

Harford Community College (2015-16): Won Region 20 Regional and Super-Regional Tournament to advance to JUCO World Series in 2016.  Also won Maryland Junior College championship in 2015.  Appeared in 48 games with 23 starts over two seasons, and batted .287.  Was a member of the Cal Ripken Collegiate League Goodwill mission to Cuba in 2016.

High School (Penns Grove H.S.): Named First Team All-Conference as a senior and Second Team as a sophomore and junior.  Was on the Dean's List and the Honor Roll in all four years and became a member of the National Honor Society.

Personal: Born April 1, 1996 in Woodbury, N.J.  Parents are William and Tracy Valichka.  Enjoys boating, fishing and football, and wants to continue his baseball career as a player or coach after college.  Majoring in behavioral and social sciences with a minor in business at NCCU.
