North Carolina Central University Athletics

2019: Made 17 appearances with one start and two wins.  Pitched 19 innings with three strikeouts.  Held a streak of 21 consecutive appearances without allowing an earned run stretching back to his sophomore year before it was snapped at Appalachian State on March 19.  Made the first seven appearances of this season without allowing an earned run over 4.2 innings.  Made his longest appearance of the year in his first career start when he pitched 2.2 innings with two strikeouts against Norfolk State in a win on May 10.

2018:  Made 12 appearances in relief and pitched 9.1 innings.  Didn’t allow an earned run, and notched six strikeouts.  Made seven appearances without allowing a hit, and five without allowing a baserunner.  Named MEAC All-Academic.

2017:  Made two appearances from the bullpen, and collected two strikeouts over 1.2 innings.  MEAC All-Academic Team selection.

2016:  Made seven appearances from the bullpen, and pitched 8.1 innings.  Struck out six batters, and had a three-game stretch without allowing an earned run.  Made five total appearances without allowing an earned run, and two without giving up a hit.

High School (West Guilford H.S.): Was named to all-conference teams his junior and senior year, and earned team MVP honors his senior year as well as team pitcher of the year his junior season.  Earned academic all-conference honors his sophomore year.

Personal: Born May 28, 1997.  Parents are Bob King and Patricia Mutch.  Majoring in Chemistry with a minor in Spanish.
