North Carolina Central University Athletics

2019: Appeared in 18 games and started 10.  Had seven hits and two doubles, and drove in four runs.  Touched home seven times and walked eight times.  Had two multi-hit games Stole two bases.

West Wilkes HS: Lettered in three sports and earned multiple all-conference honors in basketball, football and baseball.  Named all-conference twice for basketball, three times for football, and four times in baseball.  Was a two-time All-State 2A selection, and was named 2018 Mountain Valley Athletic Conference Player of the Year.  Rushed for 1,189 yards and 14 touchdowns, and threw for 770 yards and nine touchdowns as a quarterback in his senior year.

Personal: Born December 2, 1999.  Parents are Joey and Gina Ortiz.  Enjoys public speaking, video games, spending time with friends and family, and lifting.  His goal is to get drafted into MLB.  Majoring in psychology with a concentration on sports psychology at NCCU.
