Biography
As a Senior (2014-15)
Named Second Team All-MEAC. Started all 33 games and averaged 32.2 minutes per game. Shot 37.9% from three-point territory and averaged 3.2 made threes per game, finishing first in the conference and eighth in the nation. Made 105 three pointers, and became only the second Eagle to do so in a single-season. Averaged 12.9 points per game and shot 40.6% from the floor. Played 35+ minutes 15 times and 40 minutes three times. Led team in scoring 10 times including three-straight 20+ point games from Jan. 26 to Feb. 2. Scored in double-figures 22 times and went over 20 points seven times. Drained eight threes against Johnson & Wales (Dec. 2) scoring a season-high 26 points. Notched at least one three in 15 consecutive games to end the season.
Prior to NCCU: Mississippi Valley State University (2013-2014)
As a Junior (2013-14):
Finished his lone season at MVSU averaging 11.9 points per game, shooting 38.8 percent from three-point range. Scored 20 or more points on three occasions, including a career-best 26 points against Monmouth where he shot 6-for-11 from downtown on Nov. 29. The following day, shot 5-for-6 from three-point range against Longwood to finish with 21 points. During that two-game span, he shot 11-for-17 (64.7 percent) from beyond-the-arc. Scored in double figures 15 times. Hit at least one three-pointer in 31 of 32 games.
Mississippi Delta Community College (2012-13)
Averaged 22.3 points a game along with 3.9 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in his lone season at MDCC. Scored 36 points at Northeast Mississippi Community College on Feb 21.
Itawamba Community College (2011-12)
Played one season at ICC.
High School (Aberdeen High School)
Led the Bulldogs to the Class 3A Region Two District One Championship, leading an 18-5 charge in the fourth quarter to pull away for the win. Finished the title game against Nettleton with 19 points, including 13 in the fourth quarter. Had 15 points in a win over South Pontotoc.
Personal
Anthony McDonald is the son of Anthony and Barbara McDonald. He has two sisters Krystal McDonald and Tiffany Collins and was born on March 26, 1992 in Aberdeen, Miss. After graduating from Mississippi Valley State University over the summer of 2014, he will study physical education in graduate school at NCCU.
