BOONE, N.C. – North Carolina Central ended its non-conference road softball slate with a 10-0 five-inning loss to Appalachian State at Sywassink/Lloyd Family Stadium on Wednesday.

Hannah McGonigle each recorded a hit for the Eagles (7-33 overall), who played the Mountaineers for the third time this season. The Mountaineers improved to 25-16 overall with the win.

The Eagles return to MEAC action this weekend with a key three-game series at Maryland Eastern Shore. The series begins Saturday with a doubleheader at 1 p.m. and approximately 3 p.m. in Princess Anne, Md.
