DURHAM, N.C. - The
North Carolina Central women's golf team looks to continue its impressive play at The Mimosa Invitational in Morganton, N.C., on Monday and Tuesday (March 30-31). Monday's tee time is 9 a.m. at Mimosa Hills Golf Course.
The Eagles are part of a 12-team field which includes The Citadel, Charleston Southern, UNC Greensboro, Gardner-Webb, Charlotte, North Carolina A&T, Presbyterian, Tennessee Tech, Towson, Longwood and Appalachian State, the host team. Nearly 70 golfers - including NCCU's
Cailynn Winford,
Mya Smith,
Sanaa Carter,
Sidney Renville and
Aubree Clements - will play 54 holes across three rounds at the women's golf tournament .
A balanced effort has keyed the Eagles to four top-4 finishes in six tournaments during the 2025-26 season. Last week, the Eagles placed fourth out of 15 teams in the Kingsmill Intercollegiate in Williamsburg, Va. Winford and Smith were named NEC Prime Performers on Wednesday for placing 16th and tying for 17th, respectively, in the Kingsmill Tournament.
Individually, Carter leads the Eagles with a 77.0 adjusted scoring average followed by Renville with a 78.8 average through six tournaments.
