WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - North Carolina Central continues to impress in women's golf, placing fourth out of 15 teams at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate on Tuesday. The two-day tournament was held at the Kingsmill Resort course.
NCCU has posted four top-four finishes in six tournaments spanning the 2025 fall and 2026 spring seasons.
On Tuesday, the Eagles fired a three-round score of 940 to finish ahead of 11 teams. They finished only nine strokes behind third-place finisher Sacred Heart (931) while Dartmouth won the team title (885) and Navy finished second (908).
Four NCCU golfers finished in the upper half of the individual standings.
Cailynn Winford was 16th with a score of 233 and
Mya Smith tied for 17th with a score of 234.
Sanaa Carter tied for 21st with a score of 235 and
Sidney Renville tied for 34th with a score of 239.
Sophie Thai of Dartmouth was the individual champion with a score of 214. Ninety-two golfers competed on the par 72, 5,947-yard layout.

The Eagles are on the course again next week at The Mimosa Invitational in Morganton, N.C. The tournament starts Monday, March 30, and concludes Tuesday, March 31, at the Mimosa Hills Golf Club.
