KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – North Carolina Central concluded its four-week stretch of road tournament play with a 14-0 five-inning softball loss to nationally-ranked Penn State in the Tennessee Invitational at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium on Sunday.
The Tennessee Invitational marked the fourth tournament in as many weeks for the Eagles (1-17 overall). During that stretch, the Eagles faced tough national competition including six Power Four teams such as top-ranked Tennessee, No. 24/25 Penn State and North Carolina.
The Eagles took on Penn State for the second time in three days. The Nittany Lions (16-4 overall) cruised to victory after the Eagles fell behind 3-0 in the first inning.

The Eagles are home for the first time this season on Thursday, March 3, in a doubleheader against Gardner-Webb at Thomas Brooks Park in Cary, N.C. The first game begins at 3 p.m. with the second contest set for approximately 5 p.m.
