COVINGTON, Ga. – North Carolina Central continues its season-opening softball road swing, traveling to the HBCU Collegiate Invitational at Turner Lake Complex this weekend.
The Eagles will compete in five games starting Friday against Alcorn State at 10 a.m. and Texas Southern at 12:15 p.m. On Saturday, NCCU will face Fort Valley State at 12:15 p.m. and Florida A&M at 4:45 p.m. The tournament concludes Sunday for the Eagles against Hampton at 12:15 p.m.
NCCU (0-5) opened its season last weekend against quality competition at the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Clearwater, Fla. The Eagles were solid against five programs including three from Power Four conferences.

Madeline Janssen and catcher
Mia De La Fuente gave strong efforts in their Eagles' debut. Janssen was named to the Leadoff Classic All-Tournament team and De La Fuente was selected MEAC Rookie of the Week.
