Harris, Sprinkle Earn MEAC Weekly Honors

NORFOLK, Va.North Carolina Central University quarterback Walker Harris was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.

Harris completed 21 of 34 passes for 288 yards and two touchdowns in the Eagles' 50-42 victory over East Texas A&M this past Saturday. He also rushed five times for 45 yards and a score, finishing with 333 total yards of offense.

Sprinkle anchored an NCCU offensive line that did not surrender a sack at East Texas A&M. He graded out at 93 percent on blocking assignments as the Eagles racked up 457 total yards to pick up their third straight win.

Saturday's win over the Lions marked the third straight contest in which the Eagles put up at least 45 points. They have eclipsed the 30-point mark four times in six games this season.

The Eagles will have their first bye week this Saturday; they will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 11, when they head to Tallahassee, Fla., to take on former MEAC rival Florida A&M.
