DURHAM, N.C. – The 2025 cross country season gets underway for North Carolina Central this week.
NCCU will run against Duke and North Carolina A&T on Tuesday, Sept. 2, in a tri-meet at Duke Reclamation Pond in Durham, N.C. The men's 4K race starts at 8 a.m. followed by the women's 3K race at 8:20 a.m.
The Eagles are back in action on Saturday, Sept. 6, at the UNCW Beach Blast 5K in Wilmington, N.C. The men's 5K race begins at 6:30 p.m. followed by the women's 5K race at 7 p.m.
NCCU returns top runners
Kayla Johnson,
Laila Jackson,
Emmanuel Paddyfote and
Evans Kimutai. Each runner made the All-MEAC team and Paddyfote competed in the NCAA Men's Southeast Regional last season.
The Eagles men placed a career-best second and the NCCU women were third in the 2024 MEAC Championships.
