DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central announced its 2025 men's and women's cross country schedule on Friday, Aug. 15. Four local races, including the MEAC Championships, highlight the eight-meet slate.
The Eagles open the season Sept. 2 in a tri-meet against Duke and archrival North Carolina A&T at Duke Reclamation Pond in Durham, N.C. The same week, the Eagles head to Wilmington, N.C., for the UNCW Beach Blast 5K on Sept. 6.
The next two meets will be in Cary, N.C. The Eagles will run in the adidas Cross Country Challenge on Sept. 19 and the Cedric Walker HBCU Challenge on Oct. 3 on the WakeMed Soccer Park course. The HBCU Challenge is part of the Great American Cross Country Festival, a premier high school and collegiate invitational.
The regular season concludes at the Royals Cross Country Challenge in Charlotte, N.C., on Oct. 10. On Nov. 1, the Eagles will host the MEAC Championships at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.
The NCAA Southeast Regional is set for Nov. 14 in Charlottesville, Va. and the NCAA Championships are Nov. 22 in Columbia, Mo.
The Eagles fared well in the postseason last year. The men placed second and the women were third in the MEAC Championships.
Meshack Kuyo was the MEAC men's individual winner.
Emmanuel Paddyfote, NCCU's top returning men's runner, competed in the NCAA Southeast Regional.
