DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central will be in Greensboro, N.C., this weekend for the UNCG Softball Tournament.
The three-team tournament includes Michigan and tournament host UNC Greensboro. NCCU will play both teams twice at UNCG Softball Stadium. Below is the two-day schedule.
Friday, March 7
11 a.m. - North Carolina Central vs. Michigan
1:30 p.m. - North Carolina Central vs. UNCG
4 p.m. - Michigan vs. UNCG
Saturday, March 8
10 a.m. - Michigan vs. North Carolina Central
12:30 - Michigan vs. UNCG
3 p.m. - North Carolina Central vs. UNCG
Both games against UNCG (15-5 overall) will be livestreamed on ESPN+. Live stats will be available for each game on nccueaglepride.com.
NCCU (1-15) met UNCG once this season. They played in the Elon Classic on Feb. 6 with the Spartans winning 14-5.
Michigan (14-7), nationally ranked in the preseason, will be the second Power 4 and Big Team the Eagles will see this season. Ohio State defeated NCCU in the Elon Classic on Feb. 7.
The Eagles are in the midst of a 22-game road schedule to start the season. They host N.C. A&T in the home opener on March 12 at 1 p.m. in Cary, N.C.
Kendall Smith (.367) is the top batter for the Eagles. She leads the team in RBIs (8) and ranks second in runs scored (6).
Daiyah Bailey is the team leader in runs scored (7) and stolen bases (6).
