WASHINGTON, D.C. – NC Central's women's tennis team returns to campus with a 5-2 victory against Morgan State in its final match at the MEAC Round-Up at WTEF – East Capitol on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles wrapped up the weekend winning all four matches over conference foes.
NCCU (9-7, 4-0 MEAC) started with a 1-0 disadvantage after dropping the doubles point, but soon collected points in singles.
Gabriela Mejia Arenas (No.6) and Valeria San Miguel Soria (No.2) were victorious in every MEAC Round-Up singles match.
NCCU's Alejandra Hidalgo Vega joined in with a pair for 6-3 sets in No.1 Singles over MSU's Lauryn Hall. Patricia Palencia earned a 6-2, 6-1 triumph in No.4 Singles to extend the lead.
Freshman Valentina de Aquino Monsanto won her second conference match in a row, defeating Morgan State's Roua Limem in the No.5 slot.
The Eagles continue MEAC action in Orangeburg, S.C. on Saturday, April 5 facing South Carolina State.
