RALEIGH, N.C. – The North Carolina Central men's and women's track & field teams wrapped up three days of competition at the 2025 Raleigh Relays on Saturday. The Eagles had seven top-15 finishes and multiple new personal records, including a fourth-place finish by freshman Theodore Skinner in the men's high jump event.
Skinner cleared 2.10m in his high jump performance for a new personal record. The Garner, N.C. native was up against 39 other athletes.
Junior Tia Lucas produced a top 10 finish on the women's side of the high jump event. Lucas leaped 1.70m for sixth and a personal record.
Staying in the field events, Malcolm Forbes and Gabriel Urraca ended in the top half of the standings. Forbes was 12th in the men's triple jump (14.00m) and Urraca finished 13th in the men's shot put with a new personal best (16.12m).
On the oval, sophomore Melanne Sutton ran in the women's 100m and 200m. Sutton finished ninth in the 100m with a time of 11.65 seconds and 14th in the 200m with a new personal record of 23.95.
Freshman Cashmere James crossed the line in 47.40 seconds in the men's 400m, bettering his record. The time earned him 11th place in the event.
Next weekend, the Eagles head to High Point for the VertKlasse Meeting on April 4-5 at Vert Stadium.
