CARY, N.C. – The NC Central women's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to Wofford on Thursday afternoon at the Cary Tennis Park. Both teams played to clinch as the Terriers garnered four points first.
Freshman Mariana Zottoli and junior Valeria San Miguel Soria highlighted the day for the Eagles coming out victorious in No.2 Doubles. The duo defeated Grace Agster and Cat Blouin, 6-4. The Terriers would triumph in the remainder of doubles to secure the first point of the match.
Wofford (11-1) won three straight singles points claiming the No. 4, 5 and 6 slot and the match.
Alejandra Hidalgo Vega's (No.1), San Miguel Soria's (No.2) and Zottoli's (No.3) singles matches all went unfinished. Hidalgo Vega did win her first set 7-6 with a 7-4 tiebreaker as the match came to a close shortly after.
NCCU (4-7) hits the road on Saturday, March 22 to face Radford at 1 p.m.
