DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central will be in Buies Creek, N.C., this weekend for a three-game softball series against Campbell at Amanda Littlejohn Stadium.
The first game begins Friday, Feb. 28, at 5 p.m. Both teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday, March 1, starting at 12 p.m.
The Eagles (1-10 overall) are coming off a 9-3 road loss to East Carolina on Wednesday.
Jaden Davis led NCCU with two RBIs and
Nyla Rodgers knocked in one run on a double.
Davis was solid as a pitcher despite the loss. She recorded four strikeouts and gave up only two earned runs in 5.2 innings.
For the season,
Kendall Smith bats .435 with eight RBIs and five runs scored to lead the Eagles offensively. Davis hits .385 with four RBIs and
Samaria Jackson has five RBIs, two home runs and five runs scored.
Campbell (9-7 overall) lost to N.C. State 7-1 and 12-4 in a road doubleheader on Wednesday. Hannah Cornetto is the top hitter for the Fighting Camels, batting .326 with 11 RBIs and 10 runs scored. Amber DeSena has 13 RBIs and 10 runs scored on .273 batting.
Both teams will meet for the 28
th time since the 2009 season.
