DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central added a game to its softball schedule this week.
The Eagles will visit East Carolina in a non-conference contest at Joyner Family Stadium in Greenville, N.C. on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 6:30 p.m. ESPN+ will livestream the game.
The NCCU-ECU matchup is part of a doubleheader involving the Pirates, who host UNC Wilmington at 4 p.m.
Kendall Smith paces the Eagles offensively with eight RBIs and a .435 batting average. She is second on the team in runs scored (5) and tied for second with
Nyla Rodgers and
Tyler Suttles in stolen bases (3).
Daiyah Bailey leads NCCU in runs scored (7) and stolen bases (5).
Samaria Jackson has five RBIs and two home runs for the Eagles (1-9 overall).
Makiya Graves and
Takia Nichols both have four RBIs.
For ECU, Kanisha Anderson bats .500 with 13 runs scored. Morgan Johnson hits .436 with 16 RBIs and 10 runs scored for the Pirates (7-5 overall).
After their mid-week game against ECU, the Eagles travel to Buies Creek, N.C., to play Campbell in a three-game series this weekend.
