DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University men's basketball team starts the second half of Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference games on Saturday, Feb. 15 hosting Coppin State University at 4 p.m. Morgan State University also comes into McDougald-McLendon Arena on Monday, Feb. 17 for a 7:30 p.m. tip. NCCU BENCH
The Eagles' last outing was a tough road loss to Howard University on Feb. 8. NCCU was down by 20 points in the second half but came up short in its comeback attempt falling 82-78 to the Bison. Po'Boigh King and Keishon Porter led the Eagles in scoring finishing with 16 and 15, respectively. 
NC Central is looking to pick up where they left off in McDougald-McLendon Arena. During conference action, the Eagles are 3-0 at home. 
Nationally, the Maroon and Gray are currently 13th in bench points (31.83), sixth in fastbreak points (17.04), 12th in offensive rebounds per game (13.83), 15th in turnover margin (+4.2) and second in turnovers forced per game (17.00). 
NCCU leads the MEAC in turnover margin and three-point percentage defense holding opponents to 29.6 percent beyond the arc. The Eagles are second in the league in points per game (80.3).
 
OPPONENTS
Coppin State dropped an 84-61 showing against Delaware State on Feb. 1 and won its second MEAC game this season over Maryland Eastern Shore 62-57 in Princess Anne, Md. on Feb. 3. 
Toby Nnadozie led all scorers in both contests with 17 and 21 points against the Hawks and Hornets, respectively. Nnadozie currently leads the MEAC in steals averaging 2.4 per game.
When Coppin State faced off against NC Central on Jan. 4, CSU defeated the Maroon and Gray 63-61 for its first win over NCCU since the 2022-23 season.
Morgan State split its last two conference games defeating Maryland Eastern Shore 76-63 on Feb. 1 and falling to Delaware State 84-82 in Dover on Feb. 3.
In both contests, MSU had four players in double figures. Against the Hornets, Amahrie Simpkins posted a team-high 26 points. Will Thomas scored 24 points versus UMES.  
The Bears will travel to South Carolina State on Saturday before taking the trip to the Nest on Monday evening. The last meeting between Morgan State and NC Central was Jan. 7 in Baltimore, Md. as the Bears pulled out a double-overtime 102-98 victory over the Eagles.
Morgan State has won the last three meetings with NCCU leading the series 56-44.
