DURHAM, N.C. – After falling on the road to nationally-ranked North Carolina on Monday, North Carolina Central will be in familiar surroundings on Friday when UNC Wilmington comes to McDougald-McLendon Arena for the Eagles' home opener at 6:30 p.m.
The Eagles renew their season series against the Seahawks after a one-year absence. The last time both teams faced each other was the 2023-24 season in Wilmington, N.C. NCCU defeated UNCW on the Seahawks' home court 70-65 on Dec. 21, 2023.
Both teams are coming off opening season losses. NCCU opened against No. 11 UNC, falling 90-42 after making the short trip to Chapel Hill, N.C. UNC Wilmington also started the season away from home Monday, dropping an 82-63 contest to East Carolina in Greenville, N.C.

- NCCU is 3-1 in its last four home openers.
