BALTIMORE, Md. – Kamren Harper finished with 15 kills and 13 digs for North Carolina Central but the Eagles dropped a four-set MEAC volleyball match (17-25, 15-25, 25-23, 14-25) to Coppin State at Physical Education Complex Arena on Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After dropping the first two sets, a revitalized Eagles' squad delivered its best showing of the match. The Eagles battled point-for-point with Coppin State before pulling away late for the 25-23 third-set win.
- The momentum from the third match was short-lived, as the Eagles fell behind 6-1 on the way to a 25-14 fourth-set defeat which ended the match.
NOTES
- The Eagles were one set shy of playing four consecutive five-set matches to start MEAC play — something they hadn't done since joining the conference as a full member in 2011. They had already set a program record with three straight five-set matches to open the MEAC season.
- Behind Beaty and Rouse, NCCU found success attacking the middle. Beaty and Rouse posted attack percentages of .314 and .294, respectively. They are ranked among the conference's top 10 in the category.
- Harper's double-double in kills and digs was the second this season and the eighth of her NCCU career.
- The loss was the eighth straight to Coppin State.
