NORFOLK, Va. – For the second time in three weeks, North Carolina Central University quarterback
Walker Harris and offensive lineman
Ja'Quan Sprinkle earned weekly honors from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) on Monday.
Harris was named Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season, and Sprinkle earned Offensive Lineman of the Week honors for the second time.
Harris delivered another standout performance in the Eagles' 45-7 victory over Florida A&M. He completed 21 of 27 passes (77.8%) for 278 yards and two touchdowns, connecting with eight different receivers. He also added 30 rushing yards and a touchdown on eight carries.
Saturday marked Harris's fourth game this season with over 250 passing yards and at least two touchdown passes.
Sprinkle graded out at 97 percent with five pancake blocks, anchoring an NCCU offensive line that allowed no sacks against Florida A&M. Behind his protection, Harris had another strong game and the Eagles also produced a 100-yard rusher in
Chris Mosley (131 yards).
Sprinkle's dominance in the trenches helped NCCU amass 486 yards of total offense.
The Eagles are idle this weekend, and they will open conference play on Saturday, Oct. 25, when they return to O'Kelly-Riddick Stadium to take on Delaware State.
