NCCU and Duke Compete in the Second Edition of the “Battle for Bull City”

DURHAM, N.C. – For the second consecutive year, the North Carolina Central University volleyball team played a fundraising match in a crosstown clash with Duke University on Wednesday evening at McDougald-McLendon Arena. This year's exhibition opened the 2024 season for both teams with proceeds benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Durham and Orange Counties.

Fans, including children from the Boys & Girls Club, were treated to four sets of volleyball.

Last season's match marked the first time since the 1970s that a Duke team competed on NCCU's campus.

Even though the match has wrapped up, there is still time to give to the cause. Donations will be accepted HERE until August 31.

The Eagles return to action on Tuesday, Aug. 27 at home in the Maroon & Gray scrimmage at 6 p.m.
