NCCU’s Boddie and Victoria Qualify for NCAA Outdoor East First Round

LEXINGTON, Ky. – North Carolina Central University will have two track & field jumpers competing in the 2024 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships East First Round. Senior Joidon Boddie and sophomore Lamont Victoria return to the regional after qualifying in last year's first round as well. The championships will take place on May 22-25 at the University of Kentucky's Outdoor Track and Field Facility in Lexington, Ky.

Victoria opens the regional championships on Friday, May 24 at 2 p.m. in the men's high jump and Boddie competes the following day, May 25 at 6 p.m. in the women's triple jump as the duo placed within the top 48 in the region to qualify for their respective events.

Boddie's (Raleigh, N.C.) performance at the 2024 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships moved her into a tie for 15th place in the region for the triple jump event. Her jump of 12.99m was her best mark as she collected gold to wrap up conference action.

Victoria (Prince George, Va.) reached a 2.11m seed mark during the Penn Relays in late April. His leap ties with 15 other high jumpers competing in the NCAA East Preliminary. Victoria captured gold during the 2024 MEAC Indoor Track and Field Championships in February for the high jump event.
