HIGH POINT, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University men's and women's track & field teams completed the VertKlasse Meeting on Saturday, April 6 after two days of competition at High Point University. Sophomore Malcolm Forbes finished fifth in two different events for the Eagles.
Forbes (Raleigh, N.C.) posted fifth-place finishes in both the men's long jump and triple jump. He leaped 6.88m in the long jump and 13.88m in the triple jump. Forbes' long jump distance is a new personal best, topping his 6.73m jump during indoor season.
Freshman Jonathan Raijon-Koger (Pfafftown, N.C.) competed in three different events at Vert Stadium. His highest finish was the men's high jump clearing 2.00m to finish fifth. Raijon-Koger's performances in the men's long jump (6.80m) and triple jump (13.82m) are new personal bests.
Sophomore Tia Lucas (James Island, S.C.) took home fifth in the women's high jump leaping 1.65m. She also jumped 10.90m in the women's triple jump.
With a 12.13m jump, senior Joidon Boddie (Raleigh, N.C.) had the highest finish for NCCU at the VertKlasse Meeting for third place in the women's triple jump. Her jump of 5.10m for the women's long jump put her in the top-25 in that event.

NC Central will remain local next week for the Duke University Invitational on April 11-13 at Morris Williams Stadium.
