ELON, N.C. – Senior second baseman
Jaylah Barr and freshman
Wynter Williams accounted for North Carolina Central University's two hits in a 13-0 non-conference softball road loss at Elon University on Tuesday evening.
Freshman
Tyler Suttles also walked twice from the leadoff position for the Eagles, but a trio of Phoenix pitchers kept NCCU from scoring in the five-inning affair.
Elon (9-18) finished with a 9-2 hit advantage with junior Allie Seering highlighting the Phoenix offense with an RBI in three different innings.
NC Central will next play a three-game MEAC road series at Norfolk State University with the games getting moved up due to expected inclement weather over the weekend. The Eagles and Spartans will now start the series with a doubleheader on Thursday (2/4 PM) and conclude play with an early game Friday (11 AM).
