DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University volleyball team hosts its final home matches at McDougald-McLendon Arena this season as Delaware State University (Friday, Nov. 8) and the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore (Sunday, Nov. 10) come to town. Sunday's match against UMES will also be Senior Day for five Eagles.

NC CENTRAL COURT
NCCU (6-16 Overall, 4-7 MEAC) split last weekend's matches defeating Morgan State University in five sets on Nov. 1 and fell to Coppin State University 3-1 on Nov. 3.
In the 3-2 victory over Morgan State, NCCU's Kamren Harper had a team-high 20 kills. Emmie Modlin and Bella Dearinger also had double-doubles in the match to help the Eagles secure the conference win.
NC Central is 71st in the nation in team attacks per set (36.22) and first in the MEAC also. The Eagles are also first in the conference in digs (14.44 per set) and Dearinger is first in assists per set (8.44).
The Eagles have a 4-11 record against the DSU Hornets falling in five sets earlier this season. UMES leads the series 15-4 over NCCU defeating the Eagles in October this season.

DELAWARE STATE COURT
Delaware State (11-13 Overall, 7-4 MEAC) is coming off two losses falling in straight sets against Howard University on Nov. 1 and dropping a five-setter at Norfolk State University.
In the latter match, DSU's Gerren Tomlin finished with a match-high 25 kills against the Spartans. Paige Ahakuelo led the Hornets in assists with 26.
The Hornets are second in the MEAC in opponent hitting percentage (.198) and first in opponent kills allowing 10.32 per set. Nationally, DSU is 34th in team service aces (164).
Hannah Sanders is second in the conference in hitting percentage (.354) while Tomlin leads in aces per set (0.54) and is nationally ranked 15th in the same category. Tomlin's also first in the MEAC in service aces (50) making her ninth in the nation for the same statistic.

Maryland-Eastern Shore (9-13 Overall, 4-7 MEAC) lost two straight in a similar fashion as Delaware State as the Hawks dropped a 3-2 match to Norfolk State on Nov. 1 and were swept at Howard on Nov. 3.
In UMES' home match against Norfolk State, Ranyla Griggs had 14 kills and Anisa Dorlouis had a 12-kill, 18-dig double-double against the Spartans.
Maryland-Eastern Shore leads the MEAC in opponent digs (11.54). Anjola Omolewa is third in the conference in hitting percentage (.343). Dorlouis has a triple-double on the season ranking her 11th in that category nationally.
