Eagles Fall at No. 16 North Carolina

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. The North Carolina Central University women's basketball team fell 119-43 to No. 16 North Carolina on Friday afternoon in Carmichael Arena.

The Eagles are now 0-9 on the season.

Freshman guard Shakiria Foster led the Eagles with a season-high 18 points and a team-high six rebounds, going 6-for-13 from the floor and hitting all five free throws.

N.C. Central's offensive woes continued, as the team shot just 28.3% (15-for-53) from the floor and 2-for-13 (15.4%) from behind the arc.

UNC (7-1) shot 56.8% (46-for-81) from the floor and 36.7% (11-for-30) from 3-point range.

The Tar Heels also held a 52-30 edge on the glass and scored 40 points off 27 Eagle turnovers. UNC also won the points in the paint battle, 70-24.

Alyssa Ustby led six Tar Heels in double figures with 24 points.

The Eagles will return to action on Sunday, when they head to Baton Rouge, La., to take on No. 7 LSU. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. ET, and the game will air live on SEC Network+.
