Callahan Scores in Double Figures in Loss at LSU

BATON ROUGE, La. – Graduate guard Morgan Callahan led the way with 13 points Sunday afternoon as the North Carolina Central University women's basketball team fell 131-44 to No. 7 LSU at the Pete Maravich Center.

The Eagles are now 0-10 on the season.

Callahan went 6-for-13 from the floor, and she also led N.C. Central with eight rebounds.

The Eagles' offensive struggles continued; they shot 24.6% (15-for-61) from the floor and 16.7% (4-for-24) from behind the arc. The free throw line was also unkind, as the Eagles were 10-for-23 (43.5%) at the charity stripe.

N.C. Central trailed by just eight after the first quarter, with LSU leading 26-18. But the Tigers held the Eagles scoreless in the second quarter, while scoring 37 points, to take control and open up a 63-18 lead at the half.

LSU (9-0) shot 56.3% (49-for-87) from the floor and made five of 11 3-pointers (45.5%). The Tigers also led 58-35 in rebounding and scored 53 points off of 33 turnovers. LSU also had a 78-20 edge in points in the paint.

Flau'Jae Johnson led nine Tigers in double figures with 22 points.

The Eagles are off for fall finals and will return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 11, when they play host to Presbyterian in McDougald-McLendon Arena at 11 a.m.
