Men's Basketball Closes Regular Season with Seven-Game Win Streak

Relive the Top 10 moments from the 2022-23 North Carolina Central University Athletics season each weekday during June 26-30.

NO. 7 – The North Carolina Central University men's basketball team closed out the regular season on a seven-game win streak, including a thrilling overtime victory over Norfolk State University in the home finale on Feb. 27 inside McDougald-McLendon Arena.

Two days earlier, senior center Brendan Medley-Bacon tied the NCCU record with eight blocked shots as the Eagles defeated Howard University, 68-60, on Senior Day on Feb. 25. Medley-Bacon went on to earn the 2022-23 MEAC Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Year award.

The Eagles were able to Protect the Nest by posting a 13-1 home record this season, which is the best mark since the squad went 12-0 at home in the 2019-20 season.
