NORFOLK, Va. – North Carolina Central University junior
Joidon Boddie was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week, the league office announced on Wednesday.
The Raleigh, North Carolina native soared a career-best 12.83 meters (42 feet, 1.25 inches) to win the triple jump at the VertKlasse Meeting hosted by High Point University. The distance is also the best mark during NCCU's Division I era (since 2007) and the second-best in the NCCU records book.
Boddie currently holds the best women's triple jump mark in the MEAC and is 0.43 meters clear of the second-highest jump. She also ranks tied for 44th in the nation in the event.
Up next, NCCU will split squads between the Duke Invitational hosted by Duke University in Durham on April 6-8, and the Aggie Invitational hosted by North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro on April 7-8.
