DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University freshman
Facundo Olmedo picked up his fourth singles victory in the Eagles' 6-1 loss to UNC Asheville at the Dr. James W. Younge Tennis Courts on Saturday afternoon.
In the sixth position, Olmedo battled and outlasted Tarek Erlewein 1-6, 6-4, 1-0 (5) to secure the lone maroon and gray point.

Naresh Bharathy fell to Chester Wickerwire (6-3, 6-3), and their classmate
Kareem Abdul Hakim was clipped by Bruno Serra (6-0, 6-4).
Additionally in singles competition, Graduate student
Sebastian Pino was beaten by Sam Nicholson (6-3, 6-3), junior
Shaka Cristellotti was tripped by Rafa Serra (6-4, 6-4), and sophomore
Oliver Saarinen fell to Harry Thursfiled (6-3, 6-3).
In doubles play, Pino/Saarinen was beaten by Rafa Serra and John Brann Reid (6-3), Bharathy/Olmedo was clipped by Thursfield and Bruno Serra (6-0), while Cristellotti and freshman
Liam Murtaugh's match against Nicholson/Wickwire went unfinished.
Next, NCCU (4-13, 2-1 MEAC) will host Longwood University on Thursday, March 30 at the Dr. James W. Younge Tennis Courts and then travel to Greensboro to battle in-state rival North Carolina A&T State University on April 1 at the Aggie Tennis Center.
