ELON, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University men's tennis team was swept 7-0 by Elon University at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon.
The Eagles captured 14 games across the six singles matches. Sophomore
Oliver Saarinen fought hard but fell to Nicholas Campbell 6-3, 6-2, while graduate student
Sebastian Pino fell 6-0, 6-2, to Daniel Martin.
The Eagles played four freshmen in the other singles competition.
Kareem Abdul Hakim was outlasted by Veljko Krstic (6-2, 6-2),
Neiman Sneed fell to Ahmed Hosni (6-0, 6-0),
Naresh Bharathy was defeated by Nicholas Condos (6-0, 6-1), and
Facundo Olmedo was beaten by Oskar Antinheimo (6-1, 6-1).
Elon snatched the doubles point with the combination of Antinheimo and Martin beating Pino and Saarinen 6-2, while Condos and Ben Zipay clipped junior
Shaka Cristellotti and freshman
Liam Murtaugh 6-2.
