DURHAM, N.C. – Redshirt sophomore Aniya Finger recorded a double-double and redshirt junior Tianna Carter was one rebound shy of her own double-double as the North Carolina Central University women's basketball team rolled to a 67-54 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference home victory over Coppin State University on Monday evening inside McDougald-McLendon Arena.

Carter scored a team-high 14 points and Finger followed with 12 points. The Eagles finished with a dominating 53-38 rebounding advantage with Finger pulling down a game-high 10 rebounds and Carter corralling nine boards. The +15 rebounding advantage is NCCU's best margin in conference play this season.

Senior Kira Lowery highlighted play for NCCU's perimeter players with 12 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals. Freshman Jerni Kiaku followed with eight points, five assists and four rebounds.

The Eagles scored the first six points of the contest and led the whole way, including leads of 19-9 after the first quarter and 36-20 at halftime. Carter led all players into the locker rooms at halftime with 10 points.

The maroon and gray maintained a double-digit advantage throughout the second half.
