The Eagles have lost their last five games – all on the road – and are coming off a 66-55 setback at UNC Greensboro on Thursday. NC Central (3-7 Overall) has yet to win on the road this season (0-7), despite having a chance in the fourth quarter against its last three opponents.

Senior guard Kimeira Burks scored a game-high 17 points against the Spartans to regain the team lead in scoring at 14.0 points per game. Burks is NCCU's top 3-point shooter, averaging 2.6 made 3-pointers per game.

Freshman guard Kyla Bryant has reached double-digit points in each of NCCU's last four games and follows just behind Burks with 13.6 points per game. Bryant also paces the Eagles with 2.2 steals per game for a squad that has eight different players averaging at least one steal per contest.

Junior forward Morgan Callahan (10.4 PPG) is a third player averaging over 10 points per game for the Eagles and she is pulling down a team-best 8.8 rebounds per game.

NC Central will be playing UNC Asheville for the first time in a decade with the Eagles winning the last meeting, 55-52, on Nov. 28, 2014. The all-time series is tied at 2-2.

UNCA BENCH

The Bulldogs dropped a 60-51 road game at East Tennessee State University on Thursday in their last game. UNC Asheville (4-6 Overall) is 3-0 at home, marking the fourth straight opponent NCCU will be playing that is still undefeated at home in 2023-24 when the Eagles arrive to play.

A pair of Bulldogs are averaging over 10 points per game in senior guard McKinley Brooks-Sumpter (13.9 PPG) and junior guard Lalmani Simmons (11.7 PPG). Brooks-Sumpter, a Big South Conference Preseason All-Conference First Team selection, is UNCA's leading scorer and rebounder for a second straight season as she is averaging 7.5 rebounds per game.
