The last meeting between the two teams ended in a 78-71 victory for the Chanticleers. The Eagles are coming off a 1-1 record at the Campbell Creek Classic earlier in the week.

NC CENTRAL BENCH
The Eagles head into Sunday's matchup playing their fourth straight road game. NCCU played on Monday and Tuesday as one of four teams in the Creek Classic hosted by Campbell University. Fred Cleveland Jr. was the leading scorer in both games at the event, finishing with 17 points against The Citadel in the finale.
Sophomore Po'Boigh King leads North Carolina Central in scoring at 14.7 points per game, with Ja'Darius Harris not far behind averaging 14.6. Emmanuel Izunabor grabs 6.1 rebounds per game, and Cleveland is dishing out 4.3 assists per contest to lead the MEAC.
Cleveland, Harris, Izunabor, King, and Cobey Harraway were the starters in the last game for NCCU.
COASTAL CAROLINA BENCH
Coastal Carolina's last game was on Nov. 19 in an 80-72 loss against the College of Charleston at the Myrtle Beach Invitational. The Chanticleers had a balanced scoring effort as four of the five starters were in double figures. The team is currently third in the Sun Belt Conference in assists per game (15.75).
The possible starters for the Chanticleers are Kylan Blackmon, Jacob Meyer, Henry Abraham, John Ojiako, and Kevin Easley. Meyer is the only underclassman in the starting lineup for this veteran group.
In the six meetings with North Carolina Central, Coastal Carolina has won every game since 2010. The closest contest was in 2016 with the Chanticleers winning by three points.
