BALTIMORE, Md. – Freshman
Tori Wilson amassed a season-best 20 kills to help North Carolina Central University rally from an 0-2 deficit to force a fifth set, but host Coppin State University held off NCCU for a 3-2 (25-12, 25-16, 24-26, 22-25, 15-5) conference victory on Sunday afternoon.
Wilson added two block assists for a season-high 21-point performance, while committing just three attack errors on 47 attempts for a .362 hitting percentage.
Autumn DeSantis also tallied a season-high with 12 kills for NCCU (2-10, 1-1 MEAC), while freshman
Kamren Harper recorded her second double-double of the year with 10 kills and 10 digs.
Loren Johnson reached 20 digs in a match for the third time this season with an even 20 digs, while
Vanila Pulu-Suliafu distributed 38 assists for the visitors.
Coppin State (11-7, 2-0 MEAC) was topped by Miajavon Coleman with 20 kills.
